What the record says
Retatrutide: what the published record shows
The 48-week phase 2 trial randomised 338 adults with obesity to the arms it tested or placebo once weekly. Mean body-weight change at week 24 ranged from −7.2% in the lowest arm to −17.5% in the highest, against −1.6% on placebo.
N Engl J Med 2023;389:514–526 ↗In the same trial the most common adverse events were gastrointestinal, dose-related and mostly mild to moderate, and the dose-dependent heart-rate increase peaked at week 24 and declined thereafter.
N Engl J Med 2023;389:514–526 ↗Four phase 3 studies now run under the TRIUMPH programme across more than 5 800 participants. The paper describing it is a design paper — it reports the protocol, not results.
